Week 7 Story Planning: The Burning of the Forest

I found Agni interesting, so when he was mentioned in the Mahabharata I thought about writing a story about him. Agni means fire and also refers to the Vedic fire god of Hinduism. Vedic refers to the ancient texts on the Indian subcontinent that are full of knowledge. Angi is a major god. He is also considered the mouth of the gods.
In the Mahabharata he approached Krishna and Arjuna in search of food as a brahmin. The brothers had be drinking and enjoying the company of women before this. Once Agni revealed himself he requested that they help him consume the forest of Khandava. Agni would not need their help if it was for Indra. The Khandava forest was protected by Indra and when Angi would attempt to consume the forest he would make it rain. This would not Angi to eat the forest. Angi was getting desporate to eat, he agreed to give celestial weapons to Krishna and Arjuna.
Arjuna received a bow with an inexhaustible quiver from the god Varuna. Varuna is associated with the sky and waters. He got his powers taken away by Indra for his violet tendencies. He is also mentioned as the father of Brahma and Vasishtha in some texts. Krishna received a mace and discus celestial weapons.
The brothers then fought Indra and won. What I would like to write about in my story next week is how the battle played out and the rewards gained, along with background of course. Also one of the survivors after Agni had completely consumed the forest was Maya. He was the son of a rishi. Maya wanted to reward the Pandavas for saving his life and offered them to build a great palace. As Maya was a grand arcgutect of the demons this well well within his powers.
