Ganesh: Wikipedia

I started with Ganesh Chaturthi because I plan on writing about it for one of my stories. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesha.

Ganesha is a widely worshiped god among all Hindu denominations. He is often considered the patron of arts and sciences as well as the remover of obstacles.

Ganesha is typically considered to be the son of Shiva and Parvati. His parents asked their children to circle the world, Ganesha circled just his parents. After doing so he was awarded the fruit of knowledge.

I had not idea what Puranas meant, so I found out. Puranas means ancient or old and typically refers to Indian lore.
